Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo – Doctor, Educator, and Prolific Researcher
Dr. Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo, MD, previously worked as a tenured professor at the famed University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Additionally, Ana Maria Gonzalez-Angulo, MD, currently leads the Consultores de Oncologia clinical research team and is a senior medical oncologist at the Unidad de Cancerologia, both based in Mexico.
Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo has three decades of academic, clinical and research experience. As a professor in the Department of Breast Medical Oncology and the Department of Systems Biology, her research and project leadership culminated in several groundbreaking discoveries.
Moreover, Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo has produced copious research, helping the field better understand aggressive breast cancer types, cancer therapy resistance, translational genomics, and pharmacodynamics. Over 100 academic journals have published her work, influencing the direction of breast cancer research and treatment.
Besides teaching and research, Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo has been an influential member of the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium, the Cancer Genome Atlas Breast Working Group, SWOG, and the Breast International Group-North American Breast Group. She has received numerous prestigious funding awards from ASCO, the National Institute of Health, the Susan G Komen Foundation, and international grant agencies have appointed her to several review panels.
Dr. Gonzalez-Angulo has presented her research on Triple-Negative Breast Cancer, HER2-positive Breast Cancer, minimal residual disease, and molecular diagnostics and collaborated with other academic institutions and foundations in Latin America and Europe.
